Possible complications of a jellyfish sting include:

• Delayed hypersensitivity reaction, causing blisters, rash or other skin irritations a week or more after the sting
• Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis), rarely
• Infection, rarely
• Scarring or skin discoloration, rarely
